Archdiocesan Schools participate in Choral Festival

By Mary Powers

School choirs came together to participate in the Archdiocesan Choral Festival at Riordan High School on March 16. This was the first time that the festival has taken place since the onset of the pandemic.

Fifteen schools participated in the event between two sessions including Holy Angels Catholic School, De Marillac Academy, St. James School, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Finn Barr School, Stella Maris Academy, St. Catherine of Siena School, École Notre Dame Des Victoires, St. Brigid School, St. Patrick School (Larkspur), St. Raphael School, St. Isabella School, St. Cecilia School, and St. Gabriel School.

Chris Tietze (St. Brigid School Honor Choir) and Cecilia Cardenas (St. Cecilia School) were co-chairs of the event. A variety of songs were sung by the choirs including “He Never Failed Me Yet,” “Alleluia,” and “Trust in You.” All choirs came together to sing “Ode to Joy” to end the event.
