Today, the Archdiocese of San Francisco along with the San Francisco Fire, Police, and Sheriff’s Departments held the 75th annual Police-Fire-Sheriff Mass at St. Anne of the Sunset Catholic Church.
The Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco announced today the filing of a voluntary petition for bankruptcy relief under chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The filing is necessary to manage and resolve the more than 500 lawsuits alleging child sexual abuse brought against RCASF under California Assembly Bill 218, which allowed decades-old claims to be filed by December 31, 2022, that otherwise were time barred.
Today, the Marin County District Attorney’s office announced that they have reduced the charges against the vandals who desecrated and destroyed the statue of St. Junipero Serra on the property of St. Raphael parish from a felony to a misdemeanor.
