One of the Faith in Action Programs sponsored by the Knights of Columbus is a Free Throw Championship for boys and girls from the ages of 9 to 14 to encourage the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. There are four levels for the competition: local, district/chapter, state and national. From there, some make it to the international level for championship competition in their group.
The local event was held on January 14 at St Veronica Catholic Church in South San Francisco, sponsored by the Knights Councils at Mater Dolorosa and St. Augustine’s. The local champions are looking forward to being invited to the district level and then further on to the State Championship.
