Rev. Edward A. Bohnert 1949-2023

Father Edward A. Bohnert was born in Charleston, West Virginia in 1949 to his parents Edward A. Bohnert Jr., and Dawn W. Bohnert. Ed was the second of six children.

He attended Saint Patrick’s Seminary in Menlo Park, was ordained a priest in 1985, and served his entire priesthood in the Archdiocese of San Francisco. Father Bohnert served at St. Gabriel Catholic Church (1988-1990), St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church (1993-1998), St. Raymond Catholic Church (1998-2002), St. Veronic Catholic Church (2002-2008), St. Mark Catholic Church (2009-2012), and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (2012-2017).

Father Bohnert retired in 2019 and spent his last three years in assisted living. During that time he suffered from several illnesses and severe pain. He received much support during his retirement years from the San Francisco Archdiocese. His intelligence and curiosity were with him right up until he passed away on October 8, 2023.

Father Bohnert’s funeral will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in East Palo Alto at 11:00a.m. on Thursday, November 2.

Activate language translation

For security and simplicity, we recommend activating your web browser’s translation option.  Refer to your browser’s specific details on translation; the following may help you.

Google Chrome (Desktop & Android)

  • In the top right corner of your browser, click on the three-dot menu (⋮) > Settings > Languages.
  • Toggle: Under “Translate,” turn on Use Google Translate or “Offer to send pages in other languages to Google Translate”.
  • Usage: If a page is in a foreign language, a prompt will appear in the address bar to translate it. 

Microsoft Edge

  • Go to Settings > Languages.
    Toggle on Offer to translate pages that aren’t in a language I read. 

Firefox

Firefox has a built-in translation feature. If not active, right-click any webpage and select Translate Page to enable the feature. 

Safari (iOS)

  • Navigate to Settings > General > Language & Region to add secondary languages, allowing translation of web pages. 

Troubleshooting
If translation does not work, check your browser extensions for conflicts or ensure the browser is updated to the most recent version.
